Hamilton’s turn! We are pleased to announce the first session of the Frankton Record Enthusiasts Social Hour will be held at Commerce St on Thursday December 3rd at 7.30pm.
Our first curator will be the the incomparable Phil Grey, manager of Free FM, who will be taking us on a tour of 1960’s and 70’s African Funk. This style of music emerged during troubled times on the African continent, and melded the original rhythms of Africa with electric instruments, and the psychedelic style blowing up in the west. Influences like the Doors, Jimi Hendrix and James Brown give this music a raw , exuberant energy.
